A hearty and comforting dish featuring tender beef, flavorful mushrooms, and a creamy sauce served over egg noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the noodles by boiling a pot of water and cooking them according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the beef in a large skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat. Season lightly with salt and pepper, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the onions in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes until translucent, then add the mushrooms and cook for another 5-6 minutes until browned.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Thicken the sauce by sprinkling flour over the mixture and stirring. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring, simmering for about 3 minutes.
  6. Incorporate the beef back into the skillet and reduce heat to low. Stir in the sour cream until creamy.
  7. Combine with the cooked egg noodles, tossing to coat in the sauce.

Notes

For variations, consider using different mushrooms or adding vegetables like peas.
