A delightful twist on the classic fast-food favorite, combining familiar flavors in an easy-to-make dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Yellow Mustard
  • 1/2 cup Pickles, diced
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 4 Burger Buns, diced into cubes
  • 1 cup Lettuce, shredded
  • Special Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet Relish
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and stir in chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the onion is soft.
  2. Mix in Sauces: Add ketchup and mustard to the beef mixture, stirring to combine thoroughly. Remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Casserole: In a large baking dish, layer half of the diced burger buns at the bottom. Spread half of the beef mixture over the buns, followed by half of the pickles and cheese. Repeat the layers with the remaining buns, beef, pickles, and cheese.
  4. Bake the Casserole: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Prepare the Special Sauce: While the casserole is baking, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet relish, and mustard in a bowl. Set aside.
  6. Serve: Once out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes. Top with shredded lettuce and drizzle the special sauce over the casserole before serving.

Notes

Use lean ground beef for optimal flavor and fat balance. Customize your buns for added taste.
