Homemade fresh fettuccine is a rewarding dish perfect for family dinners or special occasions, offering a comforting flavor and a fun cooking experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Semolina flour (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Create a well in the center and crack the eggs into it. Using a fork, gradually incorporate the flour into the eggs until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If sticky, sprinkle in more flour as needed.
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Divide the dough into quarters, flatten one piece, and roll out using a pasta machine or rolling pin until about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Cut the rolled dough into strips approximately 1/4 inch wide using a pasta cutter or knife.
  6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fresh fettuccine and cook for 3-5 minutes until al dente.
  7. Drain the fettuccine and toss with your favorite sauce.

Notes

Use quality ingredients for the best pasta taste. Lightly flour the pasta to prevent sticking, and donโ€™t skip the resting time for better texture.
