A delightful one-pan dish combining tender steak, fragrant garlic, and sweet honey served over fluffy rice. Perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat until bubbly.
  2. Cook the steak: Season the steak with salt and pepper. Add it to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  3. Rest the steak: Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes.
  4. Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.
  5. Make the sauce: Pour in the honey and soy sauce, stirring to combine the flavors.
  6. Combine ingredients: Chop the rested steak into bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet. Add the cooked rice and toss everything together to thoroughly coat with the sauce.
  7. Heat through: Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the rice has absorbed some of the sauce.
  8. Serve: Plate the dish hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Be sure to watch the garlic carefully while sautéing to prevent burning. Adjust sauce sweetness based on your preference.
